Kim Carrigan firing a sign of the times

It’s open season again on Boston’s tried and true TV news personalities, as Fox 25 morning show grande dame Kim Carrigan became the latest casualty in an industry hiring forgettable faces for cheaper pay as audiences shrink.

Being a high-profile anchorwoman these days is risky business — but Carrigan says she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

“My situation today may explain how risky it is,” Carrigan told the Herald yesterday. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything. My experience here on television, up to this point, has been so great and I hope it’s not the end. While it may be risky, it’s sure worth it.”
